so my 6.0l powerstroke started slighly shooting white smoke out of the exhaust and it has progresed into a huge cloud and it over heated once bc it ran out of water, how would i be able to tell if it was just the egr cooler or the heads and block, it wasnt over heated but for just a few seconds and my programer said the hottest it got was 226*, also when i refill it with water it pours out as fast as it goes in somwhere on the back of the motor. any ideas?

more than likely it was your egr cooler, but also sounds like you have another issue now as well if you need a good 6.0 mechanic i hve a guy that works on mine he does all the work on it for me and knows his 6.0's and is very affordable.

if you drive it hard did it puke out of the resivor?

sounds like a egr cooler busted or a line going to the egr cooler if it pours out as fast as u pour it in if thats the case my advice would be to delete it 6.0s have egr issues as and are know for blowing head gaskets

give tadd a call at elite diesel they know there stuff when it comes to the 6.0 if you don't have the money for a complete egr delete kit just get a welder to block the cooler of with a small piece of metal and its unnoticeable for emission test or go to elites web site

Call James down @ Keeter Ford in Shelby -- he knows his stuff and is a wheeler to boot. Order the sinister diesel erg delete off eBay, install arp studs, and enjoy a trouble free 6.0 from then on...

how about getting the fuel mileage and power back? mine was fine and getting 21 mpg's until ford flashed my comp.

You can call innovative diesel. They're in new York. www.innovativediesel.com

They can sell you an SCT tuner loaded with tunes that will help your truck.

As for Keeter ford, just give their service dept a call and ask James. Tell him Mac winget told you to call.
