looking at a 6.0 from a wrecked 06 ithink silverado SS. will this be a all alluminum motor. anyone running this motor?

also would like to know if more prefer the 5.3 or 6.0. Cant really disclose what its going in yet but just wondering what the diffferance in the numbers are? is there that much power/weight diffarance. thanks.

6.0 and 5.3 are the same essentially except for bore size, so you'd be better off w/ the 6.0 no matter how you cut it.

That year model will have the fly by wire. Not that thats a big deal but i do think it costs a lil more to have the harness pinned out?

The ETC has its own sub-harness, and Jim's won't charge any extra...

5.3 vs. 6.0 is a no-brainer. bigger is better, unless the rest of your rig can't take it. In that case, I have a mild 5.7 F-body LS1 I'll trade ya.. :) It's even got the F-body oil pan ya need... what a deal!

should the 6.0 from the ss silverado be alum block/heads?

i believe that all the SS truck including the trailblazer were aluminum blocks, but dont quote me on that.
Im sure Rich or someone knows more on that but from what i remember yes.

i dont think the ss truck has the aluminum block. the ss trucks i have seen were mostly a appearance package.

wikipedia says that it is just a vortec max motor in an ss.
so its iron.
but it does have 345 hp and 380 lbs. tq.
grab it and throw some L92 heads and a hot cam to it:D
