I purchased a 2003 6.0L 2500HD. Looking to put a tuner on it. What are everyone's thoughts, comments, or suggestions on this? Looking at the bully dog gt tuner.

Have it tuned with EFI Live or HP Tuners. It will let you get the most out of your truck instead of running a generic "canned" tune. There are probably some places local to you that can take care of it, but there are also plenty of mail order tuners out there. Chances are, it will be comparable or even cheaper than a "hand held" tuner.

I like the Bully Dog tuner myself. I've sold quite a few and my customers have liked the performance gains.
Obviously, a custom tune is always best, but sometimes it can hard to find a local competent tuner.
PM me if you'd like more info on the Bully Dog tuner

My tuner isn't local at all, he's in Vegas :D I data log and email him and then he'll email me a tune revision. Granted, it's not practical for most people to buy tuning software and a good wideband, but I've used it quite a bit myself and for others. Once I got to the point of swapping the intake manifold, throttle body, injectors, and a cam, I had to have something that could accommodate the changes.

As far as hand helds though, I have heard good things about the Bully Dog. Changing the shift points and adding more timing will definitely wake your truck up!

A friend of mine is using an Edge tuner and says in economy mode he can get 16 mpg. Also runs like a raped ape in performance mode.
