Found a 3/4ton 4x4 6.2 suburban on 33's that I can get a decent deal on. But I need something I can both tow my boat, and my car trailer, as well as make the 35 mile each way commute without drowning me in diesel costs. Anybody know what kind of mpg I can expect with the 33's and 3.73 gears? It does have the 700r4 O/D trans in it.

if you stay about 55 id say around 25ish

If you can get it to go 55. Those things are weak as shit. I'd say you'll get 15 if you're lucky

15 towing maybe but a daily commute, you can get better than a turbo diesel. and 6.2s aren't "weak" if you put all the 6.5 stuff on them they are better than a 6.5td, the part why people say they are wek is because they are comparing them to a cummins td or a newer powerstroke, plus they wernt built for towing they were built for economy. and the reason why they dont have so many aftermarket parts is because people drove the piss out of them and once the engine blew up they just ripped it out becaue diesels cost more

I don't see getting a turbo onto one of them being too dificult since alot of the early 6.5 parts swap in. But I am well prepared for having the exact opposite of a hot rod diesel. If it will do 12-15 loaded and anywhere near 20 empty I'm cool with it. Thanks for the input.

mine gets 16 maybe a little better going 75/80 for my 200 mile trip to g-ville, and thats on 35s with 3.73s so i can imagine yours would go a whole lot better

yea and make sure you dont use od very much unless your empty running over 55

I've never had a 700 crap out on me from heavy loads, keeping a good cooler on them and staying out of overdrive when the 11,000 boat is behind me has been working out.
