Any one have any good or bad experiences with a 6.4 Hemi in the 2500’s ? Problems , faults ? Any issues? I’m looking to buy a 2500 and I’m skipping on the diesel this time , to many issues and maintenance is to expensive. Let me know. Thanks

There are camshaft/lifter issues galore.
Exhaust manifolds cracking at very low miles.
And then the stupid rare oil spec. It’s basically penzoil full synthetic platinum only or no warranty

I am at 43k I'my 2019 2500. No issues yet. Been a good truck.

I have a 2014 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi. It’s got 124,395 miles on it. Knock on wood, I haven’t had any major issues. Had the sparks plugs changed last December. That was pricey. 2 spark plugs per cylinder and the plugs were $25 each. As @Ron said, Penzoil 0W-40 meets the spec, so that’s what it gets. I order it through Amazon. I’m on my second set of tires after the stock ones looked like baloney skins. About a year ago or so, @benmack1 helped me change the transmission fluid. Overall, I’ve been very happy with it.

I’ve got a 2017 power wagon with the 6.4 hemi. I’m at roughly 90k and have lost a lot of torque in the last year. Replaced spark plugs and coil packs. Seems to have helped but still not 100%. May replace injectors soon. I’m calling that maintenance whereas the transmission has been a disaster. 66rfe. On my fourth one. Thankfully I got the extended warranty as I’m the second owner. Idiots at dealer replaced xfer case and driveshaft while chasing a noise that to me was clearly transmission. They finally pulled the pan and found metal chunks. I’ve had lots of other small items fail that the warranty covered too like switch panels on door and steering wheel. O2 sensors, brake calipers, backup camera. A couple recalls, one on the HCU still has no official fix but replaced it and got reimbursed thru FCA. I tow with it so added air bags to help the softer rear springs on the pw. I love the truck but she can be a PIA like all women. Lol
