Some people know that we do stainless exhaust and tubing on high end cars but here is a good example of one that just got dropped off on Wednesday.
This is a 65 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud.....its pretty cool.

I heard that they were worth 10k more if they are black. Post a picture of the one in your shop. I would never own one but I think they are cool.

I did state inspections on a lot of these and Bentleys and some other top end cars when I worked at the kia dealer in High Point. THe Bentley dealer was next door and they dont do inspections. The Rolls and the Bentleys had a lot of cool things on them that just make them what they are a lot of money but the cars are so well built.

There used to be a shop where the new 4th runway is in Charlotte that only worked on these. Don't know where they moved to, but it was cool to go to the local Bojangles/Wendy's/Taco Bell or Mr G's and see a different nice one from time to time in the parking lot.

There's a garage on Wilkerson blvd. that has a really, really old Bentley sitting in it. Been there for years on end.

I have no idea how much it weighs. It was on my 10k rotary lift and that was the slowest it has ever moved, it didn't like it....I made sure I put it on the locks everytime it went up or down.
The car stays near Piper Glen here in town. I can't believe how much power it has and how bad the brakes suck.

I don't understand how it has power windows, power steering, A/C, leather around the leaf springs and other things like that and it still has drum brakes all the way around....

Ahhh, but it has FAR SUPERIOR drum brakes than anything else...., it is after all, a Rolls Royce.

EDIT, gleened from a Rolls site......
"The criticisms about drum brakes could not stand considered
judgement. The advantages of drum brakes were that they had
low sensitivity to fade and possessed perfect balance in
combination with effort-free use because of the brake servo.
They were not prone to squeaking and although maintenance was
more labour intensive than for disc brakes, the service intervals
were longer. "

I just wonder why its not cleaner underneath...If I could afford that thing I would be sure I could afford someone to get under there and put some leather conditioner/armorall on my leaf springs:lol: maybe a little .98 cent/can wal-mart gloss black now and again.

the most impressive drum brakes in my opinion are on my buddys 62 pontiac 421 super duty.

The drum brake design is actually pretty neat compared to discs. A drum brake will generate additional braking force to the "drum linings" when in motion. Remember, drums were around before vac boosters were around. Boosters brought about a whole new world for brakes.
