so a few years ago i was having exhaust installed on my 66 caprice. i was told at the time (by Lou of the show musclecars on spike tv) that i could pretty much directly swap in the front suspension from a mid 80's camaro or something and it would give me disc brakes and a few inches lowered on the front end.

anyway i finally have some time to start wrenching on it and can't find any info on a swap like this. maybe i'm just a piss poor googler.

can anyone point me in a direction to get me started on this project? advice, links, etc all appreciated.

your search skillz suck !

5seconds on google:

http://www.chevelles.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-107745.html

while not exactly your swap it references them enough to point you in the right direction...
So from those 2 we learned factory disks were offered in 67+ and gm uses a lot of common parts...

I'd go start looking at fullsize caprice parts from late 70s/early 80s. Or hit ebay...

Keep in mind sometimes they say something wont work/fit it could be due to a ball joint difference and that is easily fixed buy reaming the knuckle (thats usually when putting big brakes on a smaller car)

Luke use the force.... i mean google...

Not sure on the 60's caprice, but if the balljoint taper is the same as the newer caprice, camaro, or s-10 spindles/brakes should fit with no problem.

when I looked up drop spindles for my 64 it was the same part# as the s10's. the p.o. had already installed disk brakes
