6lug 44 to 8 lug

okay so im goin 8 lug conversion on my 75 jimmy, already have a 14 bolt ff with 4.10's....my d44 front is 6lug, and i want to go 8 lug conversion on it. a buddy of mine has 8 lug outers but they have drum brakes. HERE IS THE QUESTION....can i use the 8 lug outers, ditch the drum brakes, buy some 8 lug rotors and use my calipers/brackets etc from my 6lug....in essence can i take drum brake 8 lug outers for a 44 and EASILY/CHEAPLY make them disc????? the only reason im goin thru this is bc i can afford a 1ton front

i changed the outers on my 10 bolt front on my k5 and the part the hub bolts into and order rotors for a 80/s some chevy truck cant rember what year . but it worked on my 10 bolt

so you used the calipers off your 10 bolt??

I dont think the drum brake and disc brake hubs are the same... you need a dana44 or 10bolt 3/4 ton backing plate, and hub/rotor... you can reuse the caliper, and if it is the same style lockout, reuse them as well...
