7.3 injector swap advice needed

havent checked the fuel pressure yet. i did check the icp and found oil in it. i changed it and there was no change. guess ill move on to the idm next.

I had a problem with mine a while back that I thought was the wiring UVCH, Turned out that the actual main harness going to the valve cover had a problem. 6 of the 8 wires were either cracked or had shielding missing. I covered them with liquid Electrical tape and then regular tape and put it all back together and the problem was solved. That wiring short cost me 2 IDM's and 2 PCM's over a 2 year period. Only reason I found it was one night while moving the harness at the Valve cover I pulled on the harness and got a jolt in my hand. I also sprayed water into it and it caused it not to run from everything arching out. Just an idea for you.

ok...i did the compression test and nbr 8 gave me a cpl different things. first time, i did it by hand and it never moved the needle. then, i did it by bumping the motor and it jumped to 80lbs. i was like "oh sheeeiiiittt"!!!! then i took of the nbr 6 and tested it. it went to 600-700 lbs. again i was like 'oh shheeeiiitttt"!!! so, i pulled the whole bank of injectors and found a couple had cracked o-rings at the top. went to my local ford dealer (they were open till midnite)and got 4 new sets of o-rings and replaced them all. cleaned them up and re-installed them into their new homes and tried again. this time nbr 8 went to 300lbs and held. by now it was 2am, so i put it 90% back together and went to bed. i didnt start it. too late and i was too tired. my (self proclaimed, non certified know-it-all) friend said that i have a burnt valve and need to take off the head and have it resurfaced and valves replaced. i say f**k it and lets let her ride till the wheels fall off. im done. ill report later to inform of the impending re-start later this morning.

another update**
well i got her started finally and now the s.e.l. light is on and when throttling it smokes to hell and smells of raw fuel. i was informed that now that i fixed all those injector o-rings, all the pressure is going to the nbr 8 cylinder and dumping even more. ANYONE WANNA BUY A TRUCK?? maybe it is a burnt valve or cam lobe. think im done with it for real this time. think its for sale

ill let you know dkra. i was told to take it out on a nice longg ride to make sure i got all the air out. we'll see after that

got a long update because its been awhile...
**UPDATE AGAIN** took her out for a good 30 minute ride and now it jumps and skips like 2 cylinders are missing. im so freaking mad!! i guess im not too good at workingon things. 4000.00 gets her. 2001 f250 long bed crew cab.. XL model so dont go expecting any power options. 265k...tires are 80%.. 2wd..now the good part...the truck was wrecked in june of 2012. the insurance company paid to have it fixed up, then after i got it back, they decided to salvage it so i kept it. it was professionally fixed. hell it didnt even look like it was hurt that bad. i have the pics to prove it. frame wasnt touched.
option 2....someone fix it for me.
another update...alright, ive cooled down a little and back at it again. took to the shop where my friend has a snap-on scanner. still cant read the codes. checked and cleaned ipr and no difference. heres where the problem comes in that may solve it all. when replacing the oil in the hpop, i forgot to put the plug back in it. started it and it was like old faithful under the hood. quickly shut it off, but i think the damage may be done. i degreased the engine bay today and it still runs like crap. its almost like when i get into 2nd gear or higher, it has a motor lag and just makes the thing jump like crazy. did i fry my pcm?
I really want to give this thing a chance to live again. I dont even know what its supposed to run like. but 4k will still get it
