I just installed a chip on my truck. Chip was free from a friend. As soon as I started truck the water in fuel light came on. I have read it could be that the chip is burned for a different year model truck or something like that. Before I installed the chip the truck was sitting for two weeks, its rained nearly everyday and has been extremely humid. I added some diesel additive and drained the fuel bowl three times, still nothing. Drove it 60ish miles today around town and truck feels fine but light is still on. Drained fuel in bowl when I got home and it looks fine. Anyone got any insight on this?

It could be that there is a slime built up in the bowl. I had it happen several years ago. Take the drain plug out an squirt some carburetor cleaner into the drain hole. I had all kinds of sludge come out of mine. After you do that you will probably be ok.

I changed the filter in December and cleaned the fuel bowl then it was pretty clean then
