im thinking about swapping a th400/np208 combo in the place of a 700/np241? any problems with the swap has anyone done me yet?

208/241's are fairly similar, 208 is like the older brother of the 241, pretty dang sure th400 is shorter than the 700r4, which would require crossmember relocation/driveshaft length mods . . . but i mean if your goin to ROCKdubs then u gotta mess with the driveshafts anyway.

I thought you already had a rebuilt 700? If not then yea do the swap 400 is stronger, and hang onto the 241 cause it will bolt in place of the 208 if you ever frag it.

*edit input splines on the tcase's are prob diff the 400 prob has 32 spline the 700 prob has 27

THATS A GOOD SWAP THE 400S ALOT SHORTER JUST GET THE YOKE TO GO WITH IT AND GET A LONGER SHAFTYOU SHOULD'NT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.

FWIW I just swapped in a 700R4/208 in place of a bad TH400/208 and it was just about a straight bolt in affair.

The transmission/transfercase lengths were nearly identical and I reused the driveshafts without any modifications.

The 208s had the rear slip yoke. Just a few adapters for the transmission cooler lines. No mods for crossmember etc.

This was on a M1008 (K30) behind a 6.2 diesel.

I have the TH400/208 laying on the garage floor if you want to compare the lengths (or if you want to buythe transfer case which was fine).
