A buddy of mine has a 75 EB that has been sitting in the woods for about 5 years now. He wants to drag it out and restore it. He's talking about a frame off restore.

I went and took a look at it today with him. It's not in that bad of shape. Needs some inner fenders and floor pans. But he has all the parts.

What can he expect for body repair costs if he can drop it off with new body panels. How much for some one to repair rust damage and swap body parts, and paint.

Core support is rusted out, rockers are gone door post needs replacing, floors replaced, fenders look to be in good shape, no interior anything, hood is shot. If he drops it off at a shop and says "restore it" he better have well over 10k to throw down. He would be better off finding something in decent shape, then you get into the fuel tanks, if the engine works, transmission, rebuilding the axles and radius arm bushings, wiring harness chewed through by rats etc etc etc.

Front floor pan $50, front inner fenders $75ea. Rockers, $35 ea. door supports $200.... You might have $1000 in body parts. Just to have the body parts swapped and the old parts blasted, everything assembled and painted, you think $10k? I'm not talking about having a shop do EVERYTHING. Just the body.

Yes.
Very close.
$65/hr

Id say you've got 100 hours there that's $6,500 in labor. At a cheap shop.

Hey, a Bronco!

It will not be a cheap fix. It will need a lot of work to be done correctly. It will need kick panels, inner and outer rockers, door posts, maybe strikers, and more. I saw some holes in the rear floor area. If it needs quarters and all that get ready for serious sticker shock. Don't forget to check the cowl, along the flat section between the two vents. Some rust there, some don't.

If you can do the metal work, you're still in it for $3-$4k on the cheap side for paint work.
