Which gear oil should I use in the truck. I won't be doing alot of towing with it, but when I do it will be heavy stuff.

Going with royal purple, just indecisive on which weight to run.

Dodge axles
Dana 44 HD Front 4:10's Dana 60 FF Rear 4:10's.

You would probably be best off with the 140 in the rear, I have seen some come in that tow alot that have burnt there junk up running thinner gear oil in the rear. I normally run amsoil in my customers vehicles that tend to tow some.

Something's wrong if you managed to get more than a quart or two into an open knuckle front axle. The rears take about a gallon b/c the wheel bearings are oil bath. The whole housing is about halfway full.

Okay. That's probably in the ballpark. I double-checked, and the spec on a 60 front is 2.5 qts.
