I was wondering bout rim size dana 60 in the rear and dana 44 with disc brakes up front. My question is I want to run 38's are bigger so can I go with 15" rims a good amount of off set and clear my brakes? What do most of you guys run?

15s should clear the brakes, but 38's will eat the unit bearings up and will be rough on the axle shafts on that dana 44. Much bigger than 35s and you should consider a dana 60 swap.

Depending on the application of the truck I would be confidant in the front 44. I have used mine many years of wheeling and haven't had much issues other than normal things. Are you wanting lockers? Gears? Ect. I am running 39.5 on a 17 rim too.

Whats the best donor to get the dana 60 out off? The Dodge 350 are hard to find.

Any 60 from an early 70's to 93 Dodge will be bolt in, and Chevy 60s from the early 70's to the late 80s are only like a half inch wider spring perch to spring perch.

Some people run big meats on them with no problems. I run 35s on my geared and locked 44, and break at least one shaft a year. YMMV depending on wheeling style, but based on the vehicle and that particular Dana 44 with its weak unit bearing design, I would be saving and planning for a 60.

Thanks for all the help. I dont like my 44 cause it dont have hubs. It will have gears and lockers. Whats the best to get the transfer case out off to ditch the full time four wheel drive?

The tail shaft length is different on the transmissions that mate to a 203 versus Dodges other tcases. Some people have swapped in a later tcase without swapping trans or tail shafts, but I think the spline engagement length is less than desirable IIRC. The best thing to do would be keep the trans and 203 and mate a 205 to it in a doubler. The (probably) cheaper option would be to swap in a trans and tcase from an 80s dodge with either a 205 for the strength or a 208 or 241 for the lower ratio. Head over to ramchargercentral.com and look around. Tons of info over there for these era trucks.
