So I'm in the market for a new carb for my 77 cj5 w the 304. I'm not having much luck other then a few that are remans for 4-500 and I'm not doing that. Anyone have any ideas or know of anywhere? I've checked jegs, summit, quadratec, 4wd and not had much luck

I'm still running the original 2bb, with a couple of rebuild kits in it; the old Motorcraft 3150 [or whatever]. When I checked the Part stores for a remaned, I fainted at the prices!
A New 4bb Quad, would be cheaper, than a remaned deuce! No help offered here.

Unless the throttle shaft bores are worn/sloppy or otherwise pooched... rebuild it as @rodney eppes said!

What's it doing/not doing that's causing you grief?

The Motorcraft 2100 is the absolute simplest carb in existence... you can pull it, disassemble it, blow it out, reassemble & reinstall in the time it takes to brew a pot of coffee.
I'm stoopid busy until early in Dec., but happy to help with the rebuild, float setting, idle screw tuning, etc...
