I just halfway rebuilt my carb.I say that because the kit does not come with much, not even a float. It's a carter 7153S single barrel on a 77 Jeep CJ5.I beleive it's also called a YF.I took a few pics to remind myself if there were any troubles. The instructions are kind of hard to decipher but with them and some common sense it worked out well. The black polymer base plate that goes under the carb has a gasket on each side. One of the gaskets in the kit was the football shaped one and it fit fine with the cut outs in the right place and is on top of the plate. The kit did not come with the bottom gasket.Turns out that I ended up putting a thermostat gasket on bottom. It was a bit thicker and fit good. Here are some pics;I'll edit this thread if the carb blows up or something like that.

Do I see an electric choke in that pic? I thought the 1 bbl carter's didn't come with electric chokes. Not sure why I think that, but I do.

Manual choke I believe. It has a metal line that connects to the choke.

I know that carb well, I have 1 on my 1978 CJ-5.I think I could build it with my eyes closed, lol.:driver:

Thanks, thats where I set it(2 turns and its doing great.Even in this cold weather it cranks the first time.

Good deal, they are really simple carbs, and with alittle work, seem to work real well.:driver:
