78/79 f250 knuckle help.

Alright so what in the world do I need to go buy, I bought me a flat top milled and drilled knuckle believing it was for a 79 d44 but after further investigation mocking up my steering. I don't believe so. Im trying to get my 1 ton steering set up

Looks like you still need a pair of high-steer arms to bolt to the top of them.

May also require a little mixing and matching of spindle and wheel bearings to keep your current hubs. Probably would have been best to purchase both drivers and passenger side knuckles so both sides will end up the same.

I have all the arms, joints and tubing just need a passenger side knuckle

Yes but I need one that is already flat topped and ready to fit. One I bought doesn't appear to be right. They say there were 2 different types of knuckles ones that can be flat topped and ones that can't I have the one that can't (not enough meat on top to keep it safe)

The one on the jeep is the original the one on the deck is what I bought from the look of the tie rod drop it ain't right.

Are you planning on leaving the tie-rod down there? If not, it doesn't matter. If so, you need the matching driver-side. 5-hole vs 6-hole spindle is the biggest thing working against you.

What you have is a stock passenger side knuckle that has been machined. It is NOT the real flat top knuckle and, as you have stated, does not have the same strength. Here is a link with all the information you could ever need.

the 78-79 hp44 knuckles are perfect for running high steer arms. Many dont even bother milling the passenger. I chose to mill it. Its plenty strong enough. if you worried about its strength, you dont need to be messing with a d44. im in the middle of a 79 hp44 build right now. I attached a pic of my spindle, knuckles with arms.
