My uncle has owned the same 78 Dodge Warlock for at least 25+ yrs. It's a factory stepside 4x4, 318 auto. The grill and both fenders have some damage. Hood and top have deep surface rust. The doors are rusted through at the lower corners. The bed is very sound except for the chrome steps in front of the fenders. The tailgate is solid. The bed has the slated wood floor and all the rails are in good shape, wood is older dried lokust. Its has a set of vintage American Racing alum. wheels from that era that would need some work. The interior is all accounted for, but like the rest of the truck shows the 175-200K miles thats on it. We are both wondering if it has some value, we both know its not worth a whole lot as is but do these trucks have any restoration value? They have always seemed rare and I've not ran across very many of them, Thanks for any replies.

As is, not much. Maybe a little more than what a normal truck of the same era and condition would get, but only a little. Like anything else though, if you take the time to restore it, it will bring more money. Still nothing to write home about, and the restoration would probably be more of a sentimental value than anything else.

We're thinking mostly on the same line. Sentimental value has its say but, I can only guess at the rebuild cost. We can handle the mechanical, and sheet metal were just not equiped with the paint knowledge. I've got the ambition to do the labor but he's reluctant to spend the cash on parts and neither of us has a good place to blow it apart and rebuild it properly. Anybody got a dollar figure on any they've seen in good shape or restored? I haven't come accross any in either condition. I'm looking for some leverage to get him interested in a restoration, or help him make a decision on parting with it.
