how can i convert my 79 Bronco D44 knuckles to get the 5 on 4.5 lug pattern???? i don't think the TJ Dana 44 knuckles will work...any info would be great!!!

TJ dana 44 knuckles will not work... they have the balljoints pressed into the inner knuckles as compared to the outer knuckle on the other axles...

Dodge trucks used a 5on4.5 bolt pattern in the 80s, so you could get everything from the knuckles out off one of those trucks and put it on your axle...

or you could possibly weld, machine, and redrill your current hub and rotor...

i'll probably do the other knuckles first cause that's a whole lot of extra work that i'm not into doing right now...but thanks for that cause that's going to help me out a lot!!!!

The bad thing is, the Dodge 5x4.5 pattern has a weaker unit bearing set-up.....just examine all of your options.

Good luck!

the years were 75-79 for the dodge, and like Doc said it was a live bearing design, so no lockout... Its rather easy to spot because there is a big spindle nut on the end of the axle, instead of a lockout or flange...

your best and easiest bet will probably be to switch everything over to 5on5.5....

You didn't give us much info, so I'm going to take a guess. You have some wheels that are 5x4.5 you want to use? If that's the case then they probably won't work. The hole in the center is too small. That's why Ford uses 5x5.5 is to have a bigger center. You cheapest route would be to sell you wheels and buy new ones.

yeah i'm thinking that the new wheels is giong to be the route i take since i havne't had any luck finding the parts so far....

I would think new wheels would be cheaper and quicker. $200 brand new delivered to your door. $75 for a used pair, u pick up
