79 F150 Ford 9in axle OD

just like the title says, I need to know the outer diameter of a Ford 9 out of a 79 F150. I tried to measure but I want to be sure.

ok, another question, all the parts for the ford 9 seem to be for the 3" tube, however I believe I have the 3 1/4" tube. I have seen parts for an 8.8 and I thought they were for 3 1/4" tube also. So does the 8.8 and the 9 have the same tube?

there is a smaller 9" and a big bearing 31 spline 9"
the 8.8 might be same as the smaller 9" but i dought its the same as the bigger bearing housing. i just sold 3 of them so i cant measure any for you to see . sorry
are you wanting to know for the u-bolt size ? i thought we measured that yesterday when you were here.
 
yeah I know I just want to make sure i get all the right size spring perches, spring plates, etc.
 
Give me a shout, I have all that stuff in stock if you need it. The 8.8 uses a 3.25 tube as well as alot of big bearing 9s.

I have the U-bolts, spring plates, spring perches, shock mounts, etc. all in stock..

thanks andy, I will probably be bringing it down to the shop in a couple weeks anyway along with a BTF stretch kit to be put in
