I am installing new gears in the rear of my ranger and I cant get the ring and pinion to mesh in the axle are there any tricks or something to get it in?

Should be able to turn the pinion and it should pop right in. I assume the driveshaft and axle shafts are out?

The drive shaft and axle shafts are out but when you turn the pinion the ring gear wont go together like it should
