8 Gage wiring parts?

I had to run an 8 gauge wire from the battery to a reel on my work truck. It took 30' of wire. I went to the regular hardware stores and found no inline fuses nor quick disconnect because this piece of equipment is not permanent. I was referred to a stereo store because they may carry those items for subs and amps.
I don't like a hot wire running the length of my truck with no fuse to blow should it short out (although I ran it in conduit the whole way!)
Where do I source these parts? Inline fuse and quick disconnect for 8 guage wire.
Thanks.

yup, anything bigger that 12a is usually stereo shop or Waytec Del City territory, Amazon carries that stuff too

you might get lucky at Tractor supply for crimp lugs in the welding section, but fuses and holders same deal

You can buy a cheap amp kit at Walmart. It should have a fuse holder and all in it. As for a disconnect I'd pick up a cheap battery switch from vatozone or somewhere.

For the disconnect, if you want a plug type go to Crown Lift in concord and ask for the blue disconnect that are used on a "M" model..

the top blue one is what I am talking about..

Those are Anderson connectors if you need to describe what you're talking about to a parts person. There are a few brands that make them, but they're generically known by the Anderson name.

Freeman's car stereo, Bestbuy, or just about any other car audio place will have them. If Bestbuy, make sure it's one with an install bay.

Anderson connectors, online is usually best. Waytek is good but large minimums and they don't put shipping upfront. I've ordered from powerwerks and they were good.

I have a box full of old battery connectors from cell sites, you are welcome to a set of disconnects.

No problem, might want to remind me before to make sure.
