been looking to put some 19.5s on my truck, but after all the looking i have found that the lug converters are pretty dang expensive. cheapest i have found them were 800 bucks plus shipping.
how hard would they be to make? i understand that they would need a tight tolerance. what kind of material would it need to be?

I made the 5x4.5 to 8x6.5 adapter/spacers for my jeep back before I had any real machining experience. They turned out great. Back then I bought the material for $40. Now its about $200. Considering your line of work, its should be no problem. One thing to consider on the cost is 40 studs and 40 lugs. That was the expensive part when I made mine. $7/stud and about $2 a lug. You may be able to find something cheaper, but I had very specific needs for the stud. Let me know if you need any help designing them.

Do you already have the 10 lug wheels or something? There are plenty of 8 lug 19.5" wheels out there that you would not need adapters for. You really have three comon options. 1) Buy a set of used bread van wheels, the center bore has to be made larger to fit your hubs but not by a lot and can be dones easily. 2) Rickson Wheels, they have some really nice options for bolt on wheels. They are a little pricey but a good quality. 3) Vision wheels, they too carry direct bolt on 19.5" wheels and are much cheaper than than Rickson. Their aluminum ones are polished not chromed which is why they are cheaper and they even have steel options.

There are a few more companies as well but these are what I would recomend.

Hope this helps.
Mike
