Recently purchased a 80gal 5hp IR air compressor. Im unable to put it outside where im at now, so im trying to figure out the best configuration inside. The garage is sheetmetal, and im wondering where to mount this bad larry. If i mount it with the compresser wheel facing the wall, im worried about overheating because of not being able to pull in air, but if i mount it sideways, im worried about air not getting into the intake.
Im sure someone has a similar setup and would like them to chime in and see how its working for you guys. Thanks.

nah, got 3 of them outside with the shrouds facing the wall on the hot (all day sun) side of the shop, yea it's outside, but in the summer guarantee the compressors get hotter than they'll get inside no problems , they're good to go

My 60-gal IR compressor is against the wall inside the shop, no issues with it. As mentioned, it's far enough away from the wall to not be a problem.

Just remember to drain the condensation(water) out of the tank occasionally...should have a small petcock on the bottom of the tank.
