Here’s the deal... I replaced all the vacuum lines, brake booster and rebuilt my carb. Runs like crud and the brake booster isn’t working... straight 6, 5 speed if you need that info.

I was thinking about gutting all of the vacuum stuff...every single tube and minimizing what I reinstall enough tubing to connect the PCV valve, distributor and vacuum booster and plugging all other vacuum ports. I want to see if I can eliminate everything but the essentials to test the brake booster, etc.

Thought?

I may also replace my carb too... just trying to figure things out before spending more money on things...
 
I do have a Carter with the stepper motor (no wires connected to it?!?!). I replaced the vac lines b/c they were dried out. My thought now is to simplify the vacuum system to bare basics to test individual systems (brake booster, carb performance and dizzy).

If I find it runs well, I’ll then check the vacuum canister for integrity.

My logic is that the simpler the system, the easier it is to work on and diagnose.
