I was curious if anyone knew of a place that sold these since Warn has discontinued them, or if they are a generic type of relay(or whatever they are) that I could find at a specialty store and rebuild the solenoid pack. I am not sure mine are shot but just want to be prepared if they are.

I don't see them being rebuildable but I could be wrong.

The 8274-50 solenoids don't work with that?

I would think that just about any solenoid pack for an 8K or better winch with the same or higher current ratings would work with that. Just talking out of speculation here.

They do work but they just aren't the same style. They are the newer style solenoids. The 8274 is a 4 solenoid configuration.

funny how close that looks like a glow plug solenoid on a 97 ford power stoke.

with that said...the link above is still probable cheaper.

I talked to some people who mentioned some Mustang starter solenoids (64-73 I think or somewhere around there) are the exact same. I am going to check that out and see.

Anyone who has rebuilt one or any experience with this kind of stuff have any suggestions on how to tackle rebuilding the motor/cleaning it up? I would rather not buy an all new motor since mine seems to be in good condition. I have talked to some people who mentioned rebuilding it but no one has given me specifics on what needs/should be done.

I have read you can install a different motor and get even faster line speed and more power. Not sure what the motor was. I think it was another newer Warn motor.

It is the newer Bosch series-wound motor that comes on the 8274-50. Warn Part #39972 is the motor and new spur gear that fits the splined shaft (old one has a keyway). I am planning on upgrading the one I just bought with that motor and keeping the original as a spare.
