I was given an 84 wagoneer. The thought crossed my mind to swap out my wide trac axels and run the wagons. Just wondering if they will bolt right up, or will i run into more problems than its worth. I have not looked at this vehicle yet, and just wondering if I should simply pass.

any advise is great appeciated.

you will have to outboard the front springs (or narrow the axle housing), and probably have to move the perches on the rear axle... It would deff be an upgrade for your CJ, but depending on what your goal is, might not be worth your time....

isnt the waggie wheel pattern 6 on 5.5? If so, you won't be able to use your 5 on 5.5 CJ wheels.

Check the location of the waggie pumpkins. The rear is probably centered (make sure its not an offset quaratrac rear), I'm not sure if the front is passenger side drop (like the CJ) or drivers side. I don't know the specifics of waggie axles, but these are some of the easy things to look at.

I would like to change her stance a bit, but it might not fit this particular cj's cause. I am sure that one could not simply flip the t-case without some major re-fab work. As I stated above.... it at this point is only a figment of my imagination.

Anyone interested in some waggy axels????????

Thanks for all the response

any fullsize axle will need some modifications to fit... GM/Dodge, '70s FSJs, IH will all work in the Jeep, but will require outboarding the springs or narrowing the axle in front... IH is the only ones that will carry the same wheel bolt pattern... widths will be different depending on the axle/make...

I dont know of any that will bolt in the rear, but moving the perches on the axle isnt very hard...

What's that Waggy like?
Might do some trading for some J-10 D44's with the pass drop you need. Or if you want to go bigger I have a set of J-20's (D44/D60 8-lug).
