I just scored a beater and want to build it on the cheap to smash. it is an 83 Toyota Landcruiser. It is not gonna have doors or a back (so I can offset purchase price). I think I will weld the spiders on it. What is the best way to get a cheap lift on this thing. I want to run 36's or so and will hack the fenders.

Thanks in advance for the help!

SOA was what I was thinking. Just need a longer drag link to fix the steering geometry, longer shocks, and longer brake lines, and some longer driveshafts.

I hate spending any money on this thing to do all that is the problem. I could make my driveshaft out of square stock, but that is $ too.

I may try no fenders and some shackles and see what that gets for me.

Thanks!

Man your in the wrong hobby!

Gonna part out the rigs good parts for spare coin. It was a friggin miracle that the wife still is here after another smashed car showed up in the yard. Trying to do this thing without a paper trail. Gotta pick your battles and I'm still waitin....

How important is turning the knuckles on this thing if its not going on the pavement after the SOA?

Don't really have to turn knuckles on a trail rig. What series is this? 40, 45, 55, 60, 62, 80 ?

its a stock 1983 fj60...all but the fact the drivers side took out an f150. no damage to drive train or frame...just not much on the drivers side

Cheap and Land Cruiser do not go together.

If you are wanting to throw together a rig, you could probably sell the Fj and buy a cherokee with all the extras you will need plus some. Just a idea....

Cherokees are good rigs but somehow I seem to crumble them like crackers in my pocket. Always stock axles with high strength in them. I had an ordeal at Cliffs Insane Terrain Park a few years ago where I only had three wheels still on the rig. That was the end of the that one. Oh well.
Cruiser is taking (or loosing shape). Probably gonna SOA in the future. Got the thing down to bare bones. Just got a fuel cell and maybe next week start rebuilding rockers and the b pillar as part of a cage. Once that is done I can bob the thing. For now gonna do some heavy trimming and slightly longer shackles and see what I can clear. After I have the body altered I will look at the SOA as time and $ allows probably during the middle of summer. So far a great thing to stare at and enjoy the yard art while I enjoy
