looking at picking up an 84 xj for a trail rig. It has a 4 cyl and carb. give me the bad points, other than 4cyl.
 
The 4 cyl isn't really a bad motor. The carb is the downside but you can do a TBI swap from a 2.5L GM motor or go with pane. Just doesn't have the power of a 4.0. If it's a manual you will have the AX4 or AX5 which are somewhat weak trannies. The up side is that you get factory 4.11's. If you don't get it, and if you dont mind, forward me the info on it. I might be interested.
 
problem is: no title and no ignition key. vehicle left behind by evacuating Mexican at rental property. I don't need title/key if it will run. If I don't grab it, I will let you know though marvelous
 
Sounds awefully sketchy to me. Personally, I'd pass.

If you want a deal on as beater XJ - buy mine... '88 6cyl trail ready...
