The basic engine is all the same, the differences will be in the fuel injectors ( different plugs and OHM value ) and I think the TPS and throttle body is slightly different.

direct bolt in though

swap the old to new motor, but....

I'd send the ones you have out to be cleaned/reconditioned. the tips have plastic caps that crack and split, you will need new injector to manifold seals ( about $4 ea @ Toyota, the parts stores look at you funny when you tell them they are not just "O" rings, those are on the fuel rail side )

last set I had done were sent to RC Engineering www.rceng.com for cleaning and calibration, was $25 per and shipping. it's been awhile since I have done it, and there may be some place closer, maybe someone else will chime in.

you will have to split the intake to get tot the injector plugs and fuel rail anyway, may as well do it once and take care of the whole shot while there.

And change the fuel filter while the engine is swinging, it's SO much easier to get at ( located under intake, bolted to side of block )

fuel injection

Bolt your old fuel injection system to the newer engine. be very carefull when you remove the intake manifold, there is a hidden allen head bolt just forward of center. It is hard to see and hard to get to. You will need a long allen tool to reach it. If you try to pry the maniflold off, it will strip the aluminum threads. It is a fairly easy swap.

how about a ground from block to frame and body ?

The power steering HOSE started to smoke?

Stock grounds ate hooked up. Vavle cover one and one on the side near fender

IIRC there should also be one from the head to the body, just above the tunnel. Its a real pain to get to.

I've seen a lot of these motors w/ rust and oxidation b/c people lose or don't connect all the grounds. AL head + steel block = battery if not properly connected electrically.
