85 4runner build--*UPDATED*Dual Transmissions.
I've been working on this thing for about 3 years now off and on.
Started with a plain jane 85 4runner EFI, 300,000 miles on the Odometer.
How I originally bought it:
Changed a few things up, removed some of the ugly trim
First time out to URE with 31" SSR radials, open front and rear. Spun a bearing on the way up dutch john
I let it sit for about a year after that, mostly because I was frustrated with it.
Ended up throwing a recently rebuilt 22re in it, and traded the blown engine to topless toy for a welded third.
Mixed up the leaf packs, ended up with about a 2-3" lift, and moved the axle forward an inch, and got a smoking deal on 34" LTBs from adam greene. Also went to ECGS and bought some sliders, great guys.
And that's how she sits.
For the future i'm going to start getting more serious on it:
63" Chevy springs, Aussie up front, Longfields, Duals, 36-38" Tires, and an Interior Cage.
That should be able to handle URE at least, until I get a tow rig to head out to bigger areas.
