i was wonderin if any one out there could tell me how hard it would be to put a 302 in a ranger, the stock motor is a 2.9 v6?

yes. the stock motor is 2.9 v6.
are you having trouble with the 2.9? unless you put bigger axles under, theres no point in having a 302.
the swap is very common. plenty of parts. the aftermarket pretty much makes it a bolt in swap.

dual sump oil pan. bigger radiator. larger fuel pump. shortie headers. just some things to think about.
start with the james duff website. they used to have a really good write up. the ranger station used to be the most help, but i think rrorc (rough rangers off road club) has surpassed TRS is usefulness.
