I bought an 88 jeep cherokee a few weeks ago. It was running really good till tonight. Everything was running great while I was driving, then it just shut off like a switch was flipped. The headlights and interior lights work but not the kc lights, the radio, windows, door locks and it will not even try to crank. The fuel pump was just replaced before I bought it and theres plenty of gas in it. Leaning toward an electrical issue. If a fuse is blown (which it was to dark and I was not home to get to my tools to check the fuses) then what is blowing the fuse? If not a fuse... Will check the fuses and go thru process of elimination in the daylight. Anyone got any ideas?

Wish I had more advice, but I can offer this.. Jeeps have terrible electrical systems, period. My last ZJ did the same thing almost except for losing the engine. One day the brake lights wouldn't work, though the switch was good(both of the ones I had) and when you jumped the pigtail the lights came on no problem, but no matter what.. No switch besides a piece of jumped copper wire would signal those lights. My radio also ended up with power from the cigarette lighter.. And I'm the guy that fixes things the right way, but that damn Jeep had me pullin' out my hair on the electrical system.

Hopefully one of these Jeep enthusiasts on here will know whats up and be able to give you sound advice, good luck on it.
