correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure your truck is an 84 or older. 85 is the last year of the solid fronts, and the first year of the fuel injected 22re. 22r would be 84 or back...i may be thinkin of 4runners though

btw thats a nice lookin truck. all the ones ive ever dealt with were about to rot apart haha

as far as i know all runners were efi, this is an original 22 carbed, straight axle truck,i have the original owners manual.
thanks

You could get a carbed toy up until 88 whether it be pickup or 4runner and ive saw an 86 solid axle but never beyond that so this is a very rare truck if its an 88. as a matter of fact i looked at an 85 4runner today that was carbed. nice find and cant wait to see the finished build.

IIRC....you could get a carbed truck up until 92 in the 2wd base model flavor. As for the solid axle...there were a few early 86s but they were rare. It could have been an import. They came with solid axles and gear driven t cases till the mid 90s

Some late first gens also had EFI.

I would do some vin number checkin but odds are that it's an import or someone swapped the plates on it.

And all 4 runners arnt EFI

Anyway......Get back to work. It seems that you're going to build and finish 30 rigs before I get one done.

I'm rig less at the moment, need to have it ready enough for the toy run

I guess you sold your buggy?

I'll be watching to see what you come up with on this one. I'm planning on being at the Toys for Tots run too.

RE edited my original post,,keeping it as a light stocker build for a local ECORS class A racer/trail wheeler.

bring it on... :driver:

Although if you look at the numbers, better chances in B class these days

Changed of plans again,,LOL
this thing sat on my trailer for weeks..i unloaded it and pulled it in the garage this fri morning (8-20-2010)
after 2 days this is what i have done to it:
new brakes,master cyl,1.5 wheel spacers,cut front fenders/firewall,linked the rear,backhalfed it (Short truggy style),with full interior cage,fox 2.0 air shocks,locked the rear diff.38.5 boggers
Its been a tiring last 24 hrs.
