I was replacing a power steering pump in my sister's Bronco today.
It was pretty straightforward. It has been leaking for a long time, 12-16 months.
Got it all done and couldn't bleed the air out. The pressure fitting on the resivior didn't seem right so I go back to AutoZone and pull the old insert out of the old housing and it (the pressure line) still does not snug up. I replaced the O-ring and doublechecked everyhting.
Surely the pressure line is not supposed move (where it bolts up to the pump housing) after installation is it?
The fitting at the pressure side at the housing looked fine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

It will not get tight even with a new o-ring. It is made to have some movement. As long as it is not leaking it is ok.

Now onto the bleeding air out.
Jack it up and with the engine off turn it lock to lock several times. Then crank it up and do the same several more times. It should get all the air out. Also make sure you are using Type F trans fluid. The ranger and B2 pumps tend to start leaking with anything else.
