what disk swaps are there for a 77 ford 9"? not really wanting to drop hundreds on a "kit". looking for a junkyard type swap.

I have a 9in from a 77 Lincoln contenital and it has disk brakes on it. If you could find one of these it would work for you.

Supposedly the 8.8 discs brakes bolt up to certain ford 9 models...Didn't work for me though. I ended up fitting the brakes from my Grand Cherokee with a little fab.

speedway motors has a brake bracket and a caliper that will work. then you use a set of 78/79 bronco rotors.

At least that is what everyone suggested when I researched this.

I may still have the part numbers written down somewhere...

here...

Brackets were orderd from http://www.speedwaymotors.com/p/3346... bracket

I picked up the Standard ones and not the Metric ones. $10 a side

this was from a few years ago so i am sure prices have changed.

lincoln hat roters. dana 44 Ford calipers and brackets from a front. two small flat steel adapter brackets. the calipers are the style that uses the the drive in elongated u shape spring. the roter slide right over the axle studs with a little turning on the lathe of the flange. the caliper bracket was modified by remove part of the bolt circle for the spindle. A flat steel spacer adapter bolts the mount to the axle flange that used to locate the dust sheild (drum brake housing).
