My rear 9" is leaking at the right rear where the disk brake buts up to the axle. I have not done anything to it. Any ideas. It is definetly diff fluid. Its not much but I would like to fix it.
Axle seal. You'll have to have the collar on the axles cut or pressed off and the new one pressed back on. The seal is between the collar and the flange.
In other words you need to pull the axle.

Troy, I've been fighting an axle seal issue for a year now. If you figure it out let me know please. I replaced the seal 3 times, the shaft twice and the housing once and still can't get it to stop leaking.

Have you checked your diff vent? I had a Toyota in the shop i put like 3 pinion seals in and i finally figured it out when I pulled the fill plug it had pressure in the diff when it gets hot thus blowing seals. Just an idea
