converting from drum to disc , any advice on this . whats good whats not ? i would like to keep a parking brake due to the at. thanks

i read somwhere that you can take some zj brakes and modify the backing plate a little and then it pretty much bolts into place after that....

don't hold that to me but i think it would work if you were patient enough.... it's what i'm going to try on my 9"....

i read somewhere that explorer disc will also bolt in place, this will have the parking brake feature

i don't think so on the older models... i think they are 5 on 4.5

some of the 9" were 5on4.5 but most were 5on5.5, which is what hes got, i think...

you should use some F150 or bronco front rotors, or maybe even CJ from rotors, with eldorado rear calipers...

I think there are some cheaper calipers you could use like a camaro, etc. that I cant remember right now...

I used F150 rotors and 1/2 ton chevy calipers

You could try using Geo Tracker Front rotors (5 on 5.5) and 90-94 Subaru Loyale front calipers; they have an integrated parking brake. I’ve did some research on this myself and seems like it might be a good system on a lighter rig. Full size bronco or something might need something a little beefier.

I heard of guys using the disk brakes off a 8.8 with later model Ford F-150 rotors

depends on whether you have big bearing early, big bearing late, or small bearing ends on the housing

Just an idea but you could just plumb in a line lock for the brakes and it would be just like a parking brake but you could plumb it to lock down all four corners.
