9" spool

I bought a center section today and realized it has a spool in it. The rear axle I currently have has a 3.50 gear if I remember correctly and this section I bought today has a 5.13 gear. Believe both are 31 spline. Can I just take the open carrier out of the 3.50 and change it into the 5.13? Never set a 9" up before, anything hard about it?

there is no carrier break on 9"s so yes you can just swap them.

Plan on driving it on the street probably more than the trails
