ok 90 jeep cherokee, my passenger side tire in front is wearing down so fast it aint funny, all the others are fine no wear but that one side is killing my tread i have new tires but they are not going on until i fix it. any ideas on why just that one tire.

u got an alignment issue or wore out ball joints causing your camber or caster degree to be off. Take it to a shop and let them check the alignment and suspension. Alignment should cost about 40-50 bucks depending on the shop.

if i jack it up and can move the tire back and forth it is the bearings right my little nephew just went through it it was like he had loose lugs almost but it was the bearings.

If the wheel moves then yes your wheel bearings/hub assembly is bad. Depends on how bad your talking about thou. Ball joints have a lot to do with tire wear. Check for loose play or excessive movement on them. Jack the whole truck up and put it on jack stands and put it in gear and see if you hear any wheel bearing or unusual noise..

No prob...let me know what u find out!!

Definitely sounds like an alignment or bearing issue. But you could also have excessive wear on one tire if it's not properly inflated (over- or under-inflated). If you air down to wheel, make sure you air back up to the suggested tire pressure when you get back on the road.

thanks for all the info guys if anything else comes up please let me know and i will keep up to date with it to let you know the problem is.

Mike... if you jack the jeep up, then if it moves up & down its a bearing, left & right its an arm or possibly ball joint or something suspension wise.... i cant believe you didnt ask me this you jackass.. take it to get it aligned and see what they say..

well you saw the tire in person why didnt you tell me if i can get it figured out i will put the other tires on. man let me tell you the freaking weights on it is all over my wheels i am going to get them in the inside this time. they are all on the outside and it looks like shit

i actually think we talked about this.. hell, you know how scatter brained i am.. i can be talking about something then forget what i am saying.... yea wheel weights are pretty nasty looking sometimes. lol

Have you lifted it any since the last alignment? If its got the factory inverted y steering setup then by lifting it more you have toed it in too far. On top of what sounds like a wheel bearing being worn out I'd say you have way too much to in. You need to fix the bearing/ball joint issue and then lengthen the tie-rod. With a worn WB the tire should be wearing on the inside but you have enough to-in that its actually riding on the outside of the tire. That thing can't drive good. You might be suprised how much better it will be with analignment and some WB's.

yeah i bought it lifted 3 inch rough country i havnt touch the rods our anything but i get the death wobbles when i make a slight turn and hit a bumpat the same time

Yep you need to replace one or both wheel bearings, check the ball joints and tie rod-ends. Then adjust the toe in. You really need to take it to a shop to properly align it but you can atleast get the toe close by measuring between the rim lips in front of the axle and behind the axle you want about a 16th to an 8th more behind the axle. Once thats all done your probably still gonna have a pretty good wobble so you'll need to replace the bushings in the panhard bar. If you've had that much shaking in the front end its more than likely destroyed those bushings too. Good luck
