Plans are to take complete drivetrain axle to axle, motor to transfer case from a 90 Suburban and putting it all under a 81 CJ. sense both are leaf spring, pass drop is it not possible to swap the 350 the automatic trans and transfer case from the burb to the cj ,axles to . the burbs body was trashed on a snow slide and the cj was just collecting dust {hasn't run in a long time}.motor mounts got covered with NOVAK. got the front axles I think covered with a set of full axle brackets . I'm thinking of using ranger leaf springs thinking of taking the rear leaf spring mounts off the burb and using to widen the rear of the cj. does any of this sound like it will not work. the fuel tank from the burb fits like a glove in the back of the cj using the burbs skid as a cover ( it also will fit between the wheel wells )will remove the cj's tank for clearance. do plan on moving the rear axle back some. any suggestion I will definitely make a list of things I have not thought of. this is my first REAL build and to me its huge. But nothing ventured nothing gained .

90 burban should have a 700 not a th350
if you go 700r4 (Np241 or 208 IIRC)...you have a LOOOOOONG drivetrain for a short CJ.
you are ging to need to slide that motor forward, or the rear axle back or...mighty short driveshaft.

It can be and has been done...but its not a bolt in job

should have put a comma after 350. that was motor size and yes 700r4 trans might use 300 transfer from jeep for duel control. haven't settled on that yet. I am trying to stretch as much room both front and rear as I can .
