Got my rustbucket stuck in some deep snow and had to drag it out with a snowcat. The rear upper control arm mounts died as a result of the recovery (this thing is RUSTY).
Yesterday I cut what was left of one mount off the frame and made new ones out of 3"x3"x1/4" box tube. The drivers side was relatively easy but the passenger side is directly above the gas tank. I drove it around my house a little bit and it's not bad with 1 upper but I don't want to drive in traffic with it.
Can anyone think of a reasonably safe way to get around dropping the tank? I think most everything underneath will fall apart & the bolts will need cut getting it down. I had planned on dropping the tank and replacing the old rusty fuel lines while replacing some bad frame sections in the spring. Tryin to be cheap and lazy til then...
