First, I got this 92 4runner 2months ago and the rear axle leaks bad, I just pulled the rear apart and I clean everything up. It had no pumpkin seal, does the factory put seals in or not. I was trying to make sure this is my leak and not the yoke.

Second ?

Ever since I got it , there is a bad vib. at 54 mph to 65 mph. Scounds and feels like its the front but everthing looks good. Any ideas on what it could be. I just put new tires and rims on and still the same.. Thanks for any help..

Just to clarify - you mean you pulled the axles out and removed the rear third member (the diferential unit)? If you're referring to where the 3rd meets yej axle housing, no there'ss no specific gasket for that - you're supposed to have a form-in-place gasket instead, basically grey RTV. Enough that it baically makes a gasket seal...

re: vibration... could be a couple of things. Easiest to check - how are the tires worn? Perfectly even? I had some tires once that caused this, the PO never rotated 'em and the former fronts were worn really funky. When I put them on the rear it was the worst.
Otherwise - slightly unbalanced/bent driveshaft, or slightly loose pinion.

Actually you can get a pumpkin seal from Toyota. You have to order it cause they don't stock it. Hence why everyone uses permatex gasket maker. Can you feel the vibration in the steering wheel or more the seat of your pants. What kind of tires? I'll ASSume it's 4wd. Jack up the front and wiggle the tires while someone looks at all the ball joints/steering etc. Also check to see if the rear driveshaft is in phase. The caps on the ujoints should all be in line and the grease zerks should all line up pointing down at the same time. My truck came with the rear driveshaft out 180+1 spline.

Yep, that'll do it every time! Glad you got it all figured out!
