Have a 94 xj 4.0 First start up is fine and seems most time after driving somewhere and getting back in to start up (while engine is still hot or warm) turns over several times takes 2-3 attempts then fires up. I know fuel is built up or something because I smell it after if fires back up. Any help is great. Thanks.

My old XJ had a bad problem about vapor locking. After driving it for awhile and cranking it back up. With everything being so close the exhaust manifold would heat up the fuel rail and cause it to vapor lock... For me it was cylinder 3 and 6 repeatedly. It would miss, spit and sputter then I could hold the throttle down or start to drive and it would go away. To fix it I wrapped the fuel rail with insulation tape. May not fix your problem but it may help! Let us know how things turn out

Pulled IAC wasn't that dirty cleaned up a little will see if that helps. Thanks. Will look at the fuel rail next.
