I found them on ebay for 174.99 plus 19.99 shipping. Is that about the going rate?

I'm going SOA. What angle do I set the axle at for best performance?

What should I expect to pay for the CV drive shaft?
Thanks.

I know of buddies who just use the $90 Hack and Tap deal. I obviously don't have experience with it, but that's probably what I'll try if I do go with an sye on my truck.

Just for a little info, the one's you see on ebay are brought in from "Over Seas", maybe not the best quality. I suggest spending just a LITTLE more, and use Advance Adaptors, or equivalant. Oh, by the way, did I mention, I stock those things. LOL!! PM me for a deal for club members.

OK whats the 90.00 hack and tap deal? You know I was going to ask! I gather you are cutting the stock shaft and tapping it? Whats the 90.00 for?

You would need the more expensive Hack and Tap kit. It includes a new seal housing and the flange. Then you just hack off the mainshaft and tap it. NOT the best way to do it and we have had problems in the higher angle applications because of the additional stress it puts on the mainshaft and bearings.

We also keep the AA/Tera/etc. Heavy Duty Mainshaft Replacement kits in stock. Definitely a stronger, better option.

PM me if we can help you out, I have them in stock and ready to go.

Approximate the angle, order driveshaft, set final pinion angle, and weld on perches. I can supply you with a 1310 CV Shaft to your door for $225-240.

Let me know if I can help you out with anything else.

Andy

I know of Jeepers who have done this and had it work out fine, but I can see how higher angle stuff might be an issue. I have an et. cab S10 so maybe thats why I wasn't figuring angle in.

save yourself some money in the long run and get a new output shaft. If your doing an SOA on your own then you can handle a SYE.

I typically keep the Hack and Tap Kit here as well. Give me a shout if I can help you out.

It is definitely NOT the better option. For the additional $100 you are MUCH better off.
