95 Tahoe 4 Door SAS

Today I discovered that H2 wheels won't fit over dana 61 hubs. Looks like I'm gonna either have to grind a small amount out of the center or get them turned. I also found out that a 4" shackle flip for a 73-87 Chevy gives you about 6 inches on a 88-98. Ended up with about 10 inches of lift in the rear. Once I get the front lifted I may have to drop down to a 2" block instead of 4".

looks good man! id shy away from the blocks all together if it were me. seen too many busted leaves. to each their own.

im lookin forward to the front. iv been toying with the idea of SAS my 95 hoe.

I like it adam! Just why are you wanting it so tall? I think it would just as pimp with out the block at all and make the front match. but either way def a clean build as always. :beer:
 
Well I intended on 8 inches of lift but ended up with 10 in the rear. I'm gonna wait and see where the rear is once I get the front done. I'll prob drop down to a 2 inch block. I'm with you guys on the blocks. I don't like them but it's only gonna be a mall crawler and it saved me a lot of money to go with the block and shackle flip. I'm gonna be putting a traction bar on it to eliminate axle wrap no matter what block I go with.

I had to go back to work so progress hasn't been very good. I got the pinion angle set and the perches welded in. I ran into another problem. I have a set of power wagon wheels and 37" BFG MTs. I put them on the rear because they will fit over the hub and found that the tires hit the springs because of the sms width. I'm gonna have to run 2" or 3" spacers. Today I got the rear brake hose installed. I found out my local parts house stocks converison U-joints and they had the joint I needed to go from the Tahoe shaft to the Dana yoke. Monday I will be finishing up the rear brake lines and taking the front end out.

I got the rear brake lines bent and installed and got the driveshaft bolted up. Got it turned around in the shop and starting on the front tomorrow. Here's some update pics.

that looks awesome. did you ditch the H2s cuz of the clearance problem or what?

Yeah. When I put them on the rear the tires hit the springs. It was cheaper to sell the H2's and buy new wheels than to buy spacers. Haha yeah I got busy doing other things. You know how projects go.

Before I can really say good or bad I need a front end alignment and steering stabilizer. Right now I think it's out of alignment. It oversteers very bad.
 
The truck looks great. I do have one question though. The rear spring shackles look to be vertical. Don't they need to be leaned back a little bit?
