What is the spline count on the input side on my 95 XJ with a NP231 Case? It was manufactured 1-95. 21 or 23 spline? What years will fit?

91 and newer xj 6cyl are 23 spline
84-90 6cyl and 4 cylinder xj are 21 spline
All 4cylinder jeeps are 21 spline
You do need to be carefull when swapping between years though, there are 3 different lengths of each input shaft, a short, medium and long input, depending on the year and transmission will dictate the input length
