96 dodge ram 5.2L HELP?

1996 dodge ram 1500 with 5.2l magnum 318 auto
i noticed a couple of days ago the truck got a little quiet(its straight piped so its usually loud) and seemed like all the power wasnt there hooked it up to the trailer to take the chevy to ure and i couldnt get over 30 mph limped home unloaded the trailer and the truck still (unloaded) loses power over 1500 rpms an will barley do 30 mph it also stumbles when your on the throttle any help would be greatly apppreciated
 
as stupid as it may be has the air filter been checked along with the fuel filter has it been changed recently?
when you say straight piped i take it the cat is missing if not i would check into that also.
 
the cat is still in, its a high flow cat ab 2 years old, thats what i think the prob may be, air filter is clean
ill probably remove the exhaust where the manifold meets the cat and see how it runs
