96 dodge stalling problems

Ok iam helping my father in law work on his 96 dodge 1500 318v8. Ok it will start in neutral but not in park. Drives fine in all gears. But once we put it in park it dies. And will not start in park. But once u put it in neutral but it will start. Any help...

If by "won't start in neutral", do you mean it doesn't even turn over (crank)?

If that's the case, coupled with the shutoff when going into park... I'd say NSS (Neutral Safety Switch) could be at fault

Ok its in park it cracks but dies like sputter.. put it in neutral and it cranks right up... we did the nss adjustment and nothing

"Adjusting" a potentially fubar'd NSS and the symptoms not changing... still leads me to think NSS
