Have a 96 GC Laredo that is used as a mail delivery (pony express) on a rural route.
It started wearing the right front tire pretty bad so I took it to a front end shop and was told it needed,
all four ball joints
all four tie rod ends
control arm bushings
track bar
left front cv shaft
front axle seals.
I saw the split in the boot on the left front axle and the leaks around the diff. where the axles come out so I concur with this.
My question is "how many years did they have parts interchangeability with the 96 year model GC front ends?"
Can I go to my local PullApart to find my CV shaft? If so which year models can I pull from?
Thanks for any input you can give.
I have messed with Toyota IFS, and old Jeep closed knuckle Dana's never messed with these GC front ends before.

Pretty much everything is interchangeable from 93-98 in regards to the grand cherokee (ZJ). If you do some cross-referencing you can also use parts from most cherokee (XJ) front ends. I would suggest MOOG ball joints, and some quality TRE's. As for control arm bushings, you'd be better off ordering new stock control arms instead of trying to beat in new bushings. While you are working on the front end, ditch the CV joints for U-jointed shafts, they are a little more dependable.
